SEVEN dogs, five cats, three hamsters, two rats, one rabbit and three owls, all in a fairly small church on Hamil Road – it could have spelled disaster but all animals found peace with each other at Holy Trinity’s St Francis Day Mass last October.
The parish newsletter reports: “Because of St Francis’ love for animals, the theme was: ‘Bring your pets, fill the church and let’s bless them’.
“Apart from the occasional bark from one or two of the dogs being authoritative, there was little distraction and the whole atmosphere appeared to be engulfed in peace and tranquillity.“
